Syria

Online prohibited

There is no licensing for online casino or betting, and the Penal Code of 1949 prohibits private games of chance. In June 2026 the Ministry of Communications blocked betting and online casino sites aimed at Syrian users and asked social platforms to stop their advertising, pending review by a ministry committee. The current status of the state lottery and of land-based casinos could not be established.
