Online prohibited

Betting and games of chance are prohibited under the Public Gambling Act 1867. Since May 2025 the Cyber Security Ordinance makes running, promoting or facilitating online betting an offence punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine of up to one crore taka. Police run a nationwide campaign against betting apps and mobile money agents.
