Jonas Delin: Inside Avanti Studios’ Playbook for Scaling Live Casino

Jonas Delin

Jonas Delin is Co-Founder of Avanti Studios, a live casino supplier built around real-time multiplayer gameplay and digitally enhanced dealer presentation, positioned around the philosophy of “Live Casino: Done Better.” Under his leadership alongside the founding team, Avanti has moved from product development into commercial rollout, backed by strategic investors and a growing footprint of operator and distribution partnerships across regulated markets.

In this CasinoRank interview, Delin discusses navigating Spain’s certification process for a tier-1 partner like bet365, why player trust and visual fidelity were Avanti’s toughest engineering challenge, and how the company balances aggregators with direct integrations. He also covers original formats like Toro y Matador, the Blackjack rollout across Spain and Brazil, and the upcoming 1-Tap game family.

Your €5.8 million funding round included both institutional investors and strategic backers like Genting Casinos UK. How valuable has that combination been as you scale commercially?

Jonas Delin: Our core mission at Avanti is simple: Live Casino: Done Better. We identified a very clear set of industry pain points and set out to solve them for operators and players alike.

That sharp focus has allowed us to assemble a truly world-class team with a talent mix unmatched in iGaming. We’ve brought together top problem-solvers from AAA gaming studios and Big Tech giants like Google and Meta, combined with seasoned veterans from both B2B and B2C iGaming.

That calibre of team and vision helped attract an exceptional group of investors who brought far more than just capital. Every backer brings distinct value that we tap into daily, whether that’s granular feedback on game design, refining our go-to-market strategy, or opening doors with operators, regulators, and other industry stakeholders.

With bet365 as a major operator partner and Spain your first market at scale, what were the toughest regulatory and operational hurdles?

Jonas Delin: Bringing a digitally enhanced live casino product to scale in a strictly regulated market like Spain presents unique challenges, particularly when preparing for a tier-1 partner like bet365.

On the regulatory front, navigating Spain’s rigorous certification and game-approval process was our biggest hurdle. Because our product introduces new digital enhancements to traditional live casino, ensuring total compliance without compromising on performance required meticulous work. Our key strategy here was partnering closely with Luckia, our initial launch operator for the Spanish market. Working hand-in-hand with an experienced local partner gave us invaluable insights into regulator expectations, allowing us to streamline certification and establish a clear blueprint for subsequent rollouts.

Operationally, scaling a product across major brands, such as our recent exclusive Live Blackjack launch with Entain and our upcoming rollout with bet365, demands absolute reliability and low latency. Customising the experience to meet the strict technical standards of tier-1 operators while maintaining game speed and stability was a significant engineering lift.

Investing in overcoming these hurdles early in our journey has paid off massively. It proved that our tech stack can handle top-tier volume under tight regulatory frameworks, giving us the blueprint and momentum to contract essentially every tier-1 operator across both Spain and Brazil.

What’s the one thing about building a live casino supplier from scratch that surprised you, even with your Authentic Gaming background?

Jonas Delin: What surprised me most is just how much smoother, faster, and more strategic the process has been this time around, simply because of the sheer depth of experience Gustaf, myself, and our team bring to the table.

Having spent decades in iGaming, myself on the B2B side and Gustaf on the B2C side, we’ve already made (and learned from) hundreds, if not thousands, of mistakes in our past ventures. At Authentic Gaming, we were figuring a lot of things out as we went. At Avanti, we started on day one with a far clearer product vision, a laser-focused strategy, and a handpicked, best-in-class team made up of proven operators, top network contacts, and trusted investor recommendations.

You expect a startup built from scratch to be a chaotic uphill battle, and to an extent it is but having the right experience and skills in place from day 1 is making an incredible difference.

Avanti’s pitch is built around fixing slow innovation, high costs, and poor dealer presentation. Which took the most engineering effort to solve, and which was more about commercial model design?

Jonas Delin: Without a doubt, preserving player trust while delivering real-time, photo-realistic visual fidelity took the most engineering effort, while solving the high-cost barrier was primarily a commercial model design.

Core to Avanti’s proposition is taking traditional live casino and supercharging it without losing the authenticity that players trust. Recreating that experience digitally meant building an infrastructure from scratch capable of supporting multi-player, live-streamed, real-time decision-making with shared outcomes, all at zero latency. On top of that, our Unreal Engine, motion capture, and 3D animation teams had to push boundaries to create and render near-life-like dealers in real time.

For me personally, the biggest challenge was stepping back, trusting, and giving total autonomy to these specialised teams. Achieving that level of visual fidelity and infrastructure scale is our biggest technical moat, and it took incredible skill, patience, and management support to bring to life.

On the flip side, solving the issue of high costs was less about raw engineering and more about reimagining operator economics. Traditional live casino scales linearly with heavy overhead, physical tables, massive studio footprints, and rising operational costs. By leveraging our scalable digital-first infrastructure, we designed a commercial framework that drastically lowers the cost-per-player and operational barrier for operators, giving them the best live content and dealer performance at a fraction of traditional live casino overhead.

You’re rolling out through Light & Wonder across EMEA and Canada. How do you think about when to go through a distributor versus sign an operator directly?

Jonas Delin: There are clear pros and cons to both direct integrations and aggregators, which is why Avanti is pursuing a dual strategy. We simply don’t believe in putting all our eggs in one basket long-term.

In the short term, aggregator partnerships, like our work with Light & Wonder, give us rapid market access. Right now, our priority is scaling distribution and getting our games in front of players as quickly as possible. At the same time, we have several additional integrations underway across both aggregators and direct operator platforms. Ultimately, our goal is to eliminate friction for operators, and offering flexible, multi-channel integration options is key to making that happen.

Avanti’s debut lineup includes Toro vs. Matador, a format that doesn’t really exist elsewhere. Whose idea was it, and what made you confident it would land?

Jonas Delin: Pioneering original game formats alongside digitised classics was a joint vision between Gustaf and I from day one. At Authentic, we saw firsthand that while traditional table games are the backbone of live casino, relying only on classic formats leaves a massive gap in innovation. We were confident that original formats like Toro y Matador would land because modern players, especially more recent player demographics, crave faster, more visual, and highly localized experiences.

Our launch portfolio in Spain reflects this balance. On the classic and localized side, we rolled out Speed Baccarat, Super Speed Baccarat, Super 6 Baccarat, and Dragon Tiger (Speed and Super Speed), alongside Toro y Matador, Toro y Matador Turbo, and Toro y Matador VIP. On top of that, we recently launched 8 dedicated Blackjack tables for Entain (across their Bwin and PartyCasino brands), complete with hand-picked digital dealers, bespoke environments, tailored felts, and custom cards. With all of the upcoming operator launches leading up to Christmas I am pleased to announce that we have another 35 dedicated Blackjack tables to deliver just in Spain with an additional 25 in Brazil to be rolled out in Q4!

Looking ahead, our confidence in original formats is driving our biggest innovation yet: a brand-new game family we call 1-Tap. Designed to appeal to players accustomed to TikTok and Instagram Reels, 1-Tap games feature full-screen video streams, fast and intuitive gameplay, and dynamic math models catering to different payout preferences.

We are striving to launch new titles at the speed of a top-tier slot provider rather than the traditional, sluggish pace of legacy live casino. That speed and willingness to invent is the core of our Live Casino: Done Better philosophy.

In two years, what do you hope the industry recognizes about Avanti that it doesn’t today?

Jonas Delin: I’m making this one short: In two years’ time, I hope the industry recognizes that Avanti isn’t just an alternative live casino provider, we are the catalyst that redefined what live casino is.
