Glenn Debattista, BetStarters COO on Scaling iGaming Platforms, Emerging Market Growth, and the Future of Operator Success

Glenn Debatista

Glenn Debattista, COO of BetStarters, brings more than 20 years of iGaming experience to the operational delivery of white-label and turnkey platform solutions for online casino and sportsbook operators. BetStarters works with brands looking to launch and manage gaming products in competitive markets, with a focus on integrations, localisation, and operational support.

In this CasinoRank Interview, Debattista examines the practical questions shaping platform growth in 2026, from licensing, payments, and third-party partnerships to AI, modular architecture, and real-time analytics. As emerging markets attract more operator interest, he explains why sustainable growth depends on more than speed to launch, and how retention, compliance, and local execution are becoming central to long-term performance.

Glenn, with more than 20 years in the iGaming industry, what operational philosophy has most influenced the way you scale and manage platforms at BetStarters?

Glenn Debatista: I’m very data-driven, therefore I like using analytics to guide me decide and prioritise work. This therefore allows me to view the main constraints that we, as a platform provider face (time-to-market, costs and scaling up) in an objective way, to take the best decision based on facts and not assumptions. Once you take the decisions (they might not always be the correct one), you have a clear direction and can give yourself and your team clear targets. This kind of operational philosophy allows us to be both effective and efficient.

How does BetStarters simplify online casino infrastructure and give operators a competitive edge?

Glenn Debatista: BetStarters makes sure that both online casinos and sportsbook benefit from the best possible service and integrations. We focus on offering all this at competitive prices without compromising the standard that we offer to our clients. The competition in this industry is high, but we strongly believe that we have a product that is of the highest quality.

Many new casino brands are launching in emerging markets. What mistakes do operators often make when entering these regions?

Glenn Debatista: The most common errors are: (1) underestimating localisation – not just language but payment habits, UX expectations, and trust signals; (2) treating a region as a short-term growth play instead of investing in compliance, local partnerships, and brand-building and (3) not focusing enough on marketing (both acquisition and retention).

How do you decide which integrations or partnerships are worth pursuing to strengthen the BetStarters ecosystem?

Glenn Debatista: We evaluate partners against four criteria: customer impact, technical fit, regulatory alignment, and obviously commercial viability. We prefer partners that help us reduce time-to-value for our operators, not add more operational overhead.

From a technology standpoint, what platform capabilities are becoming non-negotiable in 2026 — AI tools, modular architecture, real-time analytics, localization features?

Glenn Debatista: All of those, but with priorities. Modular architecture and robust, event-driven data pipelines are foundational; they enable rapid integration and experimentation. Also, AI is now essential for many things and will keep growing in the coming few years. Localization (payments, content, UX) remains critical for market fit.

From an operational standpoint, what decisions have the biggest impact on sustainable growth?

Glenn Debatista: Retention and operational efficiency are the biggest drivers of sustainable growth. This means investing in platform stability, responsible gaming tools, and customer support workflows that scale

What strategic milestone or innovation should the industry expect next from BetStarters?

Glenn Debatista: In iGaming you need to continuously innovate and evolve, otherwise you will fall behind. We are in fact looking at new innovative solutions that we can hopefully start showcasing from later on this year. Therefore stay tuned to learn more about what we have to offer!
