Dejan Jović, CEO of BlueOcean Gaming, recently joined us to discuss the evolving iGaming industry. He shared insights on how BlueOcean is driving innovation with gamification while staying ahead of regulatory challenges to support operator growth worldwide.
In this interview, Dejan talked about:
- GameHub streamlines integration.
- Quick adaptation to regulations.
- Gamification boosts engagement.
- LATAM is a key growth region.
- Reliability builds strong partnerships.
For readers who may not be familiar, can you share a brief overview of BlueOcean Gaming and your core areas of focus in the iGaming space?
Dejan Jović: BlueOcean Gaming is a B2B online casino platform provider and game aggregator with 15 years of experience in the iGaming industry.
To briefly touch on our beginnings, we started by developing land-based casino software, but quickly adapted to market trends by shifting our focus to online casino platform solutions and White Label services. Our first clients were land-based operators making the move online, often relying on an agent model due to the lack of proper online payment systems at the time.
As the market evolved, so did we. That’s when we launched GameHub, our proprietary game aggregation platform, while continuing to enhance our core casino platform. Today, we offer a complete suite of online casino solutions, helping operators launch fast, scale easily, and access a huge portfolio of games and features through a single integration.
What changes or challenges have you observed in the iGaming industry over the past year, and how have they influenced your approach?
Dejan Jović: One of the biggest ongoing challenges in the iGaming industry over the past year has definitely been the tightening of regulations, especially when it comes to licensing requirements and market restrictions.
This has become a key area that we always need to monitor closely, as changes can happen quickly and impact both our operations and those of our clients. These shifts have made the work more dynamic and fast-paced, as we’re constantly required to adapt, find compliant solutions, and support our partners in navigating new rules.
Aggregation platforms like GameHub play a key role in today’s market. In your view, what should operators look for when choosing a provider in this area?
Dejan Jović: Yes, aggregation platforms like GameHub absolutely play a key role in today’s iGaming market. The fact that more and more new game aggregation platforms have appeared in recent years really highlights just how important and in-demand these services are.
When it comes to choosing a provider, I think operators should first and foremost look for reliable and flexible technology, a platform that’s stable, easy to integrate, and responsive when support is needed. Reliability is key, especially when you’re running a live operation where downtime can mean lost revenue.
But beyond just technology, I believe it’s just as important to have a strong partnership. A good aggregator should be more than a service provider — they should really listen to operator feedback, understand their needs, and reflect that in future development. At BlueOcean Gaming, we put a big emphasis on being approachable, adaptive, and collaborative, because we know that our clients’ growth directly supports ours as well.
Regulation is a constant consideration in iGaming. How does your team stay responsive to evolving compliance demands across different markets?
Dejan Jović: Let’s just say our compliance team definitely has a dynamic job. With regulations constantly changing across different markets, it’s crucial that we respond quickly and stay on top of new requirements as they come in.
Our team works closely with all relevant departments to ensure we find the right solutions fast, and just as importantly, we make sure to inform our clients promptly to avoid any potential complications. In this industry, the ability to adapt quickly and communicate clearly is key to staying compliant and keeping operations running smoothly.
Are there any emerging technologies or tools that you believe will significantly shape the B2B iGaming landscape in the coming years?
Dejan Jović: Well, it’s always tricky to predict if there will be one single tool or breakthrough that completely transforms the B2B iGaming space, but we do see some emerging trends.
One area that’s already evolving and will likely continue to grow is gamification. Tools that offer gamified features, like missions, achievements, and reward systems, are becoming more advanced, especially as AI starts to play a bigger role. These technologies have huge potential to boost player engagement and retention. So yes, I believe gamification tools, will become even more powerful and important in the years to come. And the providers who continue to innovate in this area will definitely have a strong competitive edge.

How do you balance innovation with reliability when developing or refining your solutions for operators?
Dejan Jović: Of course, we aim to be innovative and bold in our approach, but above all, reliability and security are our top priorities. We’re constantly exploring new ideas, whether it’s creating features that simplify day-to-day operations or developing impactful promotional tools that help operators engage their players more effectively.
That said, no matter how exciting or advanced a new tool may be, we never skip the fundamentals. Every feature goes through thorough testing, and we only roll it out once we’re 100% confident it’s stable, secure, and ready to deliver real value to our partners. It’s all about finding the right balance between pushing forward and keeping the foundation solid.
What regions or market segments are currently showing interesting growth opportunities from your perspective?
Dejan Jović: There are still many markets and regions with huge potential, especially those currently in the process of regulation. These transitional phases often create exciting opportunities for early movers who can navigate compliance while offering reliable solutions.
From our perspective, LATAM continues to be a highly promising region. While Brazil is definitely in the spotlight right now, we also see great potential in Argentina, Peru, Chile, and even emerging markets like Colombia and Mexico. Each country comes with its own pace and regulatory landscape, but overall, the region is full of energy and ripe for sustainable growth in the iGaming sector.
Working with multiple partners and content providers, how do you approach integration, support, and long-term collaboration?
Dejan Jović: Having been in the business for many years, we’ve really fine-tuned our integration processes; they’re fast, efficient, and backed by solid experience. The same goes for support: we’ve always been known for our responsiveness, offering 24/7 assistance to both clients and partners, which we believe is absolutely essential for a strong and reliable collaboration.
But beyond the technical side, we truly value long-term partnerships. We treat our clients and content providers with equal care and respect, focusing on open communication and building friendly, trust-based relationships. In our view, lasting success in iGaming comes from strong human connections, not just good tech.
Looking ahead, are there any developments or directions you’re exploring that you can share with us?
Dejan Jović: Yes, absolutely! There’s quite a lot happening, especially on the regulatory front, where we’re actively exploring the possibility of acquiring new licenses to stay ahead of market changes and open up new opportunities.
On the product side, we’re focused on continuously improving and expanding our offering. Right now, GameHub includes 9 powerful features, with Drops being the latest addition. We’re already working on introducing more tools, both functional and promotional, to support our clients even further. On the B2C side, we’re also developing our own gamification features, which we’re excited to roll out to our B2C clients soon!
Finally, based on your experience, what’s one key piece of advice you’d offer to companies entering or scaling in the iGaming industry today?
Dejan Jović: If I had to give one key piece of advice, it would be to focus on creativity and reliability in equal measure. Having a strong value proposition, knowing exactly why your product matters and what it brings to the end user, is essential.
We’ve seen many companies enter the market with products that are just copies of whatever is trending at the moment. But in the long run, it’s the innovators who stand out. Even if it’s a bit risky, bringing something new to the market is always worth it—as long as it’s backed by solid, reliable technology that can truly support your vision.
